The tournament is created by Lekki Sport Tv that through our media platform we would promote grassroot talents in all areas of sport at secondary school level. The just concluded High School Sport Championship HSSC1 is for Senior High Schools, while preparation for HSSC 2 which is for Junior high school is on top gear. This season of the sport event which covered football matches among participating schools also featured track and field event of 100m race, 4X1 800 Meters race and it was for both male and female category.
Venue of the the Lagos HSSC 1 tournament was on the prestigious sport pavilion of Caleb British International school Lekki.
The event took place on the 29th June 2024 which ended the school academic session for the schools.
The Media Director of Lekki Sport Tv and Organizer of the High School Sport Championship in person of Prince Rhemyjuz Elias with social media handle @princeree said
"A Lot of sport talents in all levels need media coverage and publicity for such talents to be seen and celebrated, most of these talents do not have the financial capacity to afford media coverage and publicity, that why Lekki Sport Tv has created such programme like this to give sport talents at every level of involvement opportunities to be brought to limelight through our media channels."
He also added that "HSSC 1 & 2 is age restricted because it is only for high schools that engage in active sports with students within year 7 to year 12.
This Lagos edition was only for football and Running because as at the time, the venue's sport pavilion was under renovation, so we couldn't feature the other stipulated games as expected, games like basketball, volleyball ball, table tennis, swimming were initially anticipated. The subsequent event will accommodate all sport as planned. The event shall go round different states in Nigeria.
Lekki Sports Tv is on almost all social media platforms and all the moments of the HSSC tournament will be showcased on all Lekki Sport Tv social media handles.
The Media Director of Lekki Sport Tv in person of Prince Rhemyjuz Elias equally said that "We have sport events for all ages which we are working on and will commence before end of the year.
We are hoping the beverage companies who are sport friendly that we have reached out to via their official email address for partnership will be of a great inspiration to the students, the schools and their parents by coming on board with us to encourage the sport talents who are the primary consumers of the beverage product of these companies.
The ultimate champion of High School Sport Championship tournament aside the Trophy and medals shall have a MEDIA COVERAGE DEAL with Lekki Sport Tv which is worth over 2 MILLION NAIRA.
This deal is broken down in five aspects which shall be of a great impart on the talents and their respective school.
The talents discovered shall also be the face of Lekki Sports Tv while their tenure last as the champion of HSSC.
